Exciting search for new home begins

The search has begun in earnest. I will take my first tour of a home in Goshen Friday afternoon.

When I paid off my college debts last fall, I could think about finally getting my own home. My parents have graciously allowed me to live at home since college but I am ready to move out.

While I build credit to take out a loan myself, I am looking at other ways to purchase a home. I am looking for a home with at least two bedrooms and one bath. A basement and a garage (or carport) is important but not essential. With my budget limitations, homes in my range usually are 50-100 years old and 700-1,000 square feet. Most of these homes are on the south side of Goshen west of US 33 and east of State Road 15 between Goshen High School and Goshen College. I hope to find a home in Goshen city limits or Elkhart Township.

My friend Grant has already talked to me about being a roommate. I hope that can work out but I want to take a little time to adjust to living alone before taking in a roommate. I am excited. The search is on.
