Come on, kids, let’s go shopping! Okay, I don’t actually get enthused about shopping but the junior high did go Christmas shopping Wednesday night. This year, our group got the names of four children and their parents through Salvation Army. We split up into five groups of three to four junior highers and one sponsor. We had to buy food for their Christmas dinner and gifts from a list provided. My group bought gifts for a four-year-old boy. He’s really big into superheroes, especially Superman, so his gifts included a Superman action figure, Superman toothpaste and a Superman toothbrush. We also got him a Thomas the Tank Engine train set and a bike. Everyone, including Kelsey, thought they had to ride the bike. I hope it doesn’t look used by the time he gets it. :)It’s time for more basketball this weekend and some Christmas shopping for my family. That’s the plan if it doesn’t snow too much. All the snow so far has been light and fluffy but we could be in trouble if it starts to blow and create drifts. The roads were passable but a tad slick tonight. I often wish that the snow would fall only on the grass and stay off the roads. I find it to be quite beautiful on everyone’s lawns but my patience is tried when it starts to cause problems on the road. Thank you God for snow! What would winter be without it?
