Living God's Unshakeable Truth on Outrigger Island

Leilah tries to keep her goggles on while holding
her noodle and walking in the giant flipper feet.
This game was absolutely hilarious to watch.

The kids had to to pass a sponge over their heads
and between their legs before the end person
squeezed out as much as he could into a bucket.
On the right, Jordan flexes his muscles as he
prepares to soak the sponge again.

"Know the Truth! Speak the Truth! Live the Truth!" That was the motto at this week's community Vacation Bible School at Bristol United Methodist Church. Four Bristol churches joined to host a VBS over 200 area children. There was a decidedly Hawaiian theme with Hawaiian shirts, leis, beach volleyball, and more. Dinner was served every night after a short assembly and then each group went to four different stations (different each night) before closing with another group assembly.

I helped lead a large group of energetic third graders (22 on Wednesday night!). A college student named Angela also helped lead and Kayla, a high-schooler, assisted for three nights. It was a great group with few problems beyond the normal hyperactivity and rambunctiousness. Along with all the other kids, we helped raise over $3,500 for VBS in Zambia in 2009. One of the young men at Bristol UMC will be leading that group.

I did not have much time to take photos but I hope you enjoy the few that turned out.
