Celebrating the "totally tubular" 80s!

Last Friday night, my small group from church and two other friends held an 80s party. It was a truly fun, nostalgic time remembering the like...you know, awesome 80s.

Mark brought a record player and we listened to a few records including "Hey, Mark, it's your birthday!" which was the same as the "Hey, Benjamin, it's your birthday!" record I got when I was ten or eleven. Loren and Kim had hung up records in the basement and posters from the 80s all over the house.

Heather, Loren and I all "pegged" our pants. Heather even "poofed" her hair and Mark and Amanda's three-month old wore jelly shoes.

Some of the 80s food we enjoyed included Capri-Sun drink pouches, Doritos, Dite Rite and Kool-Aid. Kim made a cake with 80s designs on it that we ate after playing a couple of TV-based games including Singstar, a karaoke-type team competition.

Everything I just talked about probably won't make much sense for anyone who grew up in any generation other than the 1980s. For those of you who did, I hope it brings back some fond and/or weird memories.

I'll try to get my camera out again soon so you can get a photographic idea of my life.
