Don’t give up on anyone. God hasn’t. I know this because last night I met a friend that I hadn’t seen in about 10 years. Midway through high school, Brad started down a path that led toward a period of addiction and rebellion against God. Our lives were so different I wasn’t sure I’d ever see him again. God has other plans, though. Presently, Brad works with one of the guys from my church. Chris invited him to play basketball on one of Maple City Chapel’s teams. I hardly recognized him anymore until he introduced himself to me. He’s married with two kids, lives and goes to church in a nearby city.
While it was such an encouragement to see Brad again, it was also a reminder that God has big plans for everyone. I give up too easy on people but God loves reclamation projects. We’re all equal in His sight. Unfortunately, some of us reject His love and mercy to please ourselves. The enemy is a destroyer but God longs to accept us when we’re broken, rebuild us and lavish us with life that will change us and everyone around us. His Word reminds us, “He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it in you.” I end with a phrase that ended most Sunday morning church services at Harvest Bible Chapel. You are blessed!
