Colts claim first major professional title for Indiana

I’ve waited almost 20 years to say this. The Indianapolis Colts are Super Bowl champions! Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison and their teammates finally stepped up when it counted. I’m just as proud to see two humble Christian men in Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith as the coaches. It shows us all that football games can won without trash talking, swearing, playing dirty or hyping yourself as the next great _________ (fill in the blank). One of the announcers even commended Dungy for his faith and said he was proud to count Dungy among his friends. Now that’s a legacy that will last long after Dungy’s football days are over!

I think some other teams should pattern their future after the Colts. The Colts took an outstanding quarterback (Manning), a couple superb wide receivers (Harrison and Reggie Wayne) and a solid running game (Edgerrin James and now Joseph Addai/Dominic Rhodes) and combined with a decent-but-not-great defense built on speed.

For all you Bears fans out there, be patient. John Elway was one of the greatest quarterbacks to play in the NFL. His Broncos lost three Super Bowls before they won two back-to-back late in his career. Grossman will learn from his mistakes and I think he could ready for the “Big Game” again very soon. I’d be happy to see the Colts win a couple more in the meantime. Manning needs another Cadillac to give away and the team needs some more chances to show off their class act.
