Remember the pictures of the kids picking cotton in Mississippi. Well, I was a cotton picker, too, and I thought I’d show you what it looks like up close. It’s a little coarser than the cotton balls in the store. And, even better, machines pick the cotton now and not slaves. Now I have a little better idea that what popular folk song Cotton Fields means.
