Enjoying the fourth with (many) friends

Erica, Michelle and Michelle's dog took
about a two-hour canoe trip to Bristol.

Keshia plays badminton with her two
sons Zane (foreground) and Jeffrey.

Jon enjoys a "fit" root beer float.
The root beer came from a
nearby ice cream stand and was
dispensed from a "keg" (actually a canister).

I spent the Fourth at the friends Loren and Kim's party near White Pigeon, Michigan. There was a plethora of food including fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, big cupcakes, old-fashioned root beer floats, and much more. Some people went fishing while Erica and Michelle went canoeing on the river. Among the games to enjoy were badminton, an obstacle course, a cherry-pit spitting contest, a whoopie-pie eating contest, a water balloon toss, monkey golf, and a beanbag game. I knew about half of the 35-40 people at their house. The others were members of Kim's family or Loren's family. I left before the fireworks but it was a glorious way to celebrate our country's independence. Please enjoy some photos of the day.
