Today, I subbed for fifth grade at Waterford Elementary in Goshen. They were the most well-behaved, respectful and helpful group I've ever taught. Their teacher must be incredible. I felt more comfortable with this group from the start because I have spent so much time with junior highers.
Well, I've subbed for kindergarten, first grade and now fifth grade. I hope to get into second, third and fourth grade classes before the end of the school year. If not, I'm planning to apply for a teaching aide/paraprofessional position at the elementary level for the 2008-09 school year. I want to keep learning in the real world of teaching while I learn the methods in college.
