Serving MCC, serving the world

Every year, many Mennonites, and others, too, gather for the annual MCC Meat Canning at The Depot in Goshen. This past Wednesday, it was Tri Lakes’ turn to help. My friend Michelle works as the MCC Material Resource Coordinator so we had extra incentive to help.

I remember going with my dad to the canning a few times when I was a kid but I don’t remember much except eating supper and watching the soap making (not done anymore). It was at Yoder’s Meat Shop between Goshen and Middlebury at that time.

I enjoyed serving MCC and the world in this way. I think everybody else did, too. Since I am still fairly new to Tri Lakes Community Church, it was also an excellent opportunity to make some new friends in Bobby, Alex, Deb, Selene, Rachel, Kolleen and others.
