After a very mild start to this year’s winter in Northern Indiana, we have been abundantly blessed with snow this past weekend. I’ve been hearing about snow in Washington, Oregon and Colorado but now it’s come to Goshen and Elkhart County. It’s even cold enough to stay for a while with temperatures dipping as low as 10 yesterday (Sunday). I wish I were still in school. It was always fun to get at least one or two snow days every school year. When I was in second grade, we made an igloo outside at school and local news photographers came and took our picture. I’ll always remember Mr. L. for his creativity. He even knew how to make schoolwork fun.
I hope you enjoy my picture of the snow as seen yesterday at the house across from Miller Brothers. For those of you in temperate climates, I think you are missing a very beautiful part of God’s creation. I’d love to have you come experience it for yourself. Maybe you can enjoy the snow without experiencing the frigid, four-degree weather we had yesterday morning.

On an unrelated subject, I need to let everyone know my allegiance for this year’s Super Bowl. Go, Colts! I’ve waited for this day for over 20 years. They came within one play of the Super Bowl in 1996 but that’s only other time they’ve been close since moving to Indianapolis in 1983. The Bears won in 1986 but the Colts haven’t won since they were the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl IV or V in the early ‘70s. I think Colts and championship has a nice “ring” (pardon the pun) to it. Don’t you?
